Hello! I'm Sabrina, currently in my final year of the Computer Science PhD program at George Mason University. My primary research area is in the larger domain of NLP and LLMs Applications in high-stakes specialized domains for subjective tasks. The domains I am currently focusing on are Educational Assessments and Policy Studies (More Specifically, AI Policies). In the education domain, I am developing AI tools to automate and enhance the accuracy of school principals' performance assessments using a blend of qualitative and quantitative methods, including training LLMs with zero-shot and few-shot learning techniques. In the policy domain, my work involves creating systems to parse and analyze extensive AI policy documents from various countries to determine how LLMs can be effectively utilized in document analysis with minimal human intervention.
I also have experience working with Speech Recognition and Translation tasks. I'm lucky to be advised by Prof. Antonis Anastasopoulos and be a part of GMU's NLP lab .
Before starting my PhD at Mason, I received my Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2018. My bachelor's thesis focused on developing a machine learning framework for sorting and classifying unstructured data from resumes.
In my free time I like to read, and travel. One of my bucket list task is to visit all 50 states of the USA within the next few years.
I have already visited 20 states and 1 US territory. (And, DC. Does it count??) (Last updated: July 2025)News
